The Story
Mariposa (Spanish for butterfly) captures a singular, miraculous moment on the British Columbia coast—a swallowtail butterfly alighting on a friend's body against a backdrop of the Pacific Northwest mountains.
Completed in 2014, this piece marks an early exploration of my first foray into Bob Ross landscape techniques, blending them with a Realism-meets-Pop aesthetic. It is a visual study of a fleeting yet stunning communion between the wild beauty of nature and the human form.
